Silence, Splash, Silence

“There aren’t any signs of struggle, he had your consent. You have no case lady” and with a thud the judge dismissed her plea for justice. Sitting by the lake she ponders over the events of the past few months and curses herself. From trusting that guy with her drink to not gathering enough courage to come up earlier, she blamed herself for everything. The drug went undetected after such a gap, leaving her with no proof of the sexual assault. If only she wasn’t a fool to trust him, if only she had been more courageous, if only the judge knew, if only she could rewind the day…

Amid those disheartening thoughts she didn’t realize when her culprit came and stood beside her. “You can’t prove anything and since you didn’t pay heed to my advice of keeping your trap shut, I’ll make you pay for it” he barked. “How about I file a case against you for spoiling my name? If you don’t want that to happen be ready by 8; I’ll come and take you for some action” saying that he turned his back.

Splash! A sound from her side, it was the last she ever made!
