My Lost Hues

Playing with my dolls one day
I laughed and sang by the bay
Tittle tottle tittle tottle my dad came
A wide grin contrasting his small frame

I jumped up at once, he caught me for sure
The hug that followed was a love so pure
As I plonked on his lap, his smile faded
Oh! I must get off for he is already jaded

“No my princess, you belong here” his words still chime
I wonder what he meant by a memorable time

It began with caressing then to kissing me so lovingly
From pecks on cheek to my lips, he switched suddenly
Just like the hero from the movie, who kisses the young girl
But why did he lie down while I gave my skirt a little twirl?

I was his doll he said and today he would dress me up
But off my clothes went for undressing was the first step
My memory of the successive events is pretty frail
But I woke up to see myself lying in a bloody trail

What’s happening? He only loved me…

I cry in pain while they beat him black and blue
Wondering what they mean by “Her life is a black hue”

  3. Beautiful piece. I love this one. There is darkness in this one, but the light at the end of the tunnel was found because the person that hurt the little girl was dealt with. Great job. Great piece. I love it!!!
