A peculiar night it was with dark clouds taking over the calm sky and before he could realize, he was already drenched. As he pushed open the gate, he found the house to be disturbingly silent. Something was amiss, he was sure but what? Mom stood there like a stone, teary eyed with shivering hands. Drooping shoulders and falling confidence made for his father’s figure. With terror in his breath he made the query and almost regretting it for fear of the answer. But thankfully there was no answer just an envelope… his hands trembled as he read the contents.
What he had left behind in his race to the top was all in front of him; a terminally ill father, family business crashing and an emotionally wrecked mother. His trials to put things back in order were failing miserably and as he turned to look for support, he found himself alone. Where were his friends? Busy in their careers and families. Where was his love? Miles away trying to build herself back from the scraps he had forgotten to break.
In the dark hour when he saw no light, he began the longest walk… the one that never ends!
