In My Cocoon

Come out to the world they say
The people who once wanted me to sway
Come out to your family they say
The people who once left me astray
Come out for our love they say
The people who saw in me just shades of gray
Come out to the new life they say
The people who once drowned me in the bay
Come out of the closet they say
The people who pushed me in one to fray

I came out long ago as gay but in my cocoon is where I will lay
For I have lost my way out and this is where I will meet my end as I pray

As a fellow member of the lgbtq community, this just resonates with me so much and it is truly heart-wrenching. I have not come out to my family and sometimes its scary to imagine how will they react but I am just proud of who I am.

    This is a heart-touching piece.

    Stay safe!
    Stay happy and healthy!

I feel happy that my little effort resonated with you so much. I wish everyone gets acceptance and nobody has to feel any pressure for coming out. Stay blessed πŸ™‚

  2. I came out at 35, after two heterosexual marriages. This is beautiful. It’s never easy to come out to people who expected a different you…but the happiness one feels when they can live their life in truth…is priceless. Now I am married to a woman and we have a 4 year old son and another on the way πŸ₯°
