Like A Sunflower

on

My day starts when he shows up at my doorstep
Then I smile my widest looking at his bright cheery face
His intense gaze makes me peep into his eyes
And I lose myself in time… every time I find him
He casts a spell on me, my soul, my heart and my breath
For I can never think of looking away from him
He spins me as he pleases and hides when he wants
But I still am entranced by him from dawn to dusk

Happy in his presence and sad when he’s gone
Perhaps I am like a sunflower and he’s my son
