“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” something about this proverb unsettles me. Does it depict the stereotype that women are very emotional and can get vindictive in the moment of heartbreak? Or does it simply advocates the strength women have and can use when provoked?

Yes I agree with you, many cultures frown upon men feeling emotions and I find that very toxic

I would say this quote is very outdated and most likely originated in a time when society men and women very differently from how they do today!!!!

Yes this is an old quote but versions of it are still in use, though they are now not directed at women which should be a relief!

It’s not stereotypical of women to be emotional or vindictive. It’s just that we have been putting unnecessary attention on women which resulted in them getting judged and objectified that we forgot to give equal attention to all genders, which created gender inequality and their disrespect in the past and have been creating gender bias, nevertheless, eventually, and threw gender equality out of the window.

That’s another aspect and I must say your words ring a bell! The society has been focusing on the emotional aspect of women and probably just forgot that men too have emotions! Thank you for sharing your view, much appreciated 🙂

You’re welcome😊😊😊 Just felt to share my thought…so I did. And the worst part is… We are still struggling with gender equality. And it’s time that we stop thinking like this that… Women are this or that.. Or whatever. We all are humans. We have feelings and emotions so we act. Nothing womanly or manly about it.

I definitely believe it’s the strength women have…going through so much in the past….overcoming so much in the present….hoping they stay stronger in the future as well….I’d like to that all that does require a lot of strength. ♥️

I think both meanings apply because I think come from a place of underestimating women and not seeing how awesome and powerful they can be and when they succeed or exert a lot of wisdom it is made to look extraordinary.
