      1. Right. However, Dante tells us that he had lost his soul in the forest of sin, which was a really terrifying thing, so much so that the memory of this loss continued to terrify him even after he had regained the path to salvation.

        I got to know about Dante’s interest in hell through Dan Brown’s book, Inferno. But here I was not thinking about how Dante saw this quote but how we can all interpret it in different ways and feel related to it.
