Waiting Till Eternity

Am waiting at the same spot
Seconds turned to minutes
And minutes to hours
Hours fused into days

But am waiting at the same spot

Days flew by and weeks came along
From weeks to months it changed
And months turned to years

But am waiting at the same spot

I am ageing with wrinkles on my face
And grey in my hair
Back bending and knee knocking
Flesh hanging on a bunch of bones

But am waiting at the same spot

Years multiplied to centuries and
Centuries escalated to millenniums

But am waiting at the same spot

What once was a body so real
Has faded to memories and
What stands today is a mirage
Of my soul that refuses to depart

But am waiting at the same spot

Thought the same. The repetition of that single verse is very powerful because it increases the emotional strength of the whole poem.
