That One Thought

The days pass by without a noise
I let them go smooth and silent
While I am sitting with all my poise
Caressing my heart as it goes violent

This calm aura is a gift
Or a symbol of the coming storm
That seeps in from the rift
And dissolves my very form

I look up to the sun shining bright
Am blinded with a mere gaze
Is this the dark before the light
Or am trapped in a never ending maze

I relax as the sun goes down the bay
And the soft breeze envelopes me
Why I lose track of time today
To be gazed on or take my time to see

As night falls my troubled heart weeps
With thousand thoughts racing through my mind
One stays stuck and silently seeps
Into my inner mesh where it stays twined

Will I see the light of tomorrow
And the starry night that comes after
Or the few hours I beg and borrow
And then die with a tear and laughter
