Unfolding My Petals

They call me a flower from a distance
Beautiful and serene
An epitome of softness they say
Velvety and smooth

Some will pluck me from my home
Bitter and harsh
Others will gaze and smell then leave
Displayed and used

I am more than this; let me unfold my petals…

In this expanse of green and brown
I am white and odd
While people are buzzing around me
I am sad and lonely

They call me pretty, they name me beauty
I am just a flower, with FEELINGS
More than a symbol of love and grace
I am a lady finding my way!

I am more than this; let me unfold my petals…

  1. Awesome and marvelous words of a woman who is like a petal in a blossom and such an awe inspiring picture too, Yamini. Great poem.
