Before The Final Bout

I ponder over my life at night as I lay
Counting flaws, ignoring perfections
A lump in my throat grows bigger each day
Not a single vent for the piled up emotions

I choke over my thoughts yet again
A cyclone waiting to blast, ripping me out
Holding on for too long was the worst bargain
Been silent for too long…prep for the final bout!

  4. That second line: “Counting flaws, ignoring perfections ” is the story of my life summed up in four words! Great poem!
