Silence- A Cry For Help

“Times change and so do people.”, all her life she had believed this. It gave her the strength to go on and hope that things will change in her favor. People did change, for the worse! Then one day all her hopes of a better life died with her. Crying by her lifeless form, her mother cursed herself for raising her daughter with values that didn’t allow her to speak against domestic violence. The silence of so many years had silenced an innocent soul, raising a question, “Do we really want such values?” but it was too late now!

    Short, yet very powerful.
We had to endure six years of domestic abuse happening to our daughter, before she finally got the courage and good sense to get out of the relationship. At any time, it could have ended just like your story.
    Best wishes, Pete.

Divorce is ugly but bearing violence is uglier…I am glad she decided to end it, hope she has a better life now πŸ™‚

  5. Yamini, too often we hear of women suffering at the hands of a violent partner. Thankfully some have the strength to end it and leave before it’s too late. Yet all too often it ends in death, either the victim’s or the abuser. I have no sympathy for the abuser and feel that, often, death is the only guaranteed way to stop them.

      1. I know and it’s a disgrace that so many households continue without any help because the abused make excuses for the abuser.
